Dominique Sirois Using the framework of the Ontario Promenade sidewalk sale, Dominique Sirois continues to research presentation models inspired by the kiosk form. In one way, this installation presents a set of interlocking shapes and reflections: a deep-seated layer of containers and packaging enveloping its structure and exploring the subtleties between merchant and museum displays.

Dé-programmer This urban walking tour builds itself around the concept of /de-programming/: an idea initially tied to the progressive breakdown and «vampirization» of Montréal’s downtown area where Concordia’s central campus is located. This collapse became most notable with the closing of the Montreal Forum in 1996 and continued with the subsequent period of stagnation in real estate.

Karen Kraven For Dare-Dare Dis/location, Karen Kraven is proposing a project that invites participants to aid in the ‘renovation’ of a space. Using a vacant storefront in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district (3179 Ontario east.), members of the local and artistic community, artists, architects and designers are encouraged to have one-on-one séances with her.

Montreal from Below DARE-DARE will be hosting a gathering where you, as a participant interested in the creative development of your city, will be the protagonist. The gathering will take the form of an “openspace” forum (need a link here !) for sharing strategies and fostering collaborations. Openspace is a way of co-constructing knowledge, sharing practices and building concrete initiatives.
