The work is a monumental ephemeral installation in the tradition of land art. Through this strong and unequivocal artistic gesture, he creates a direct link with the invasive problem of the emerald ash borer.

The starting point of the artwork is to locate urban furniture elements that are damaged in order to perform «repairs» on them. This operation initiates an artistic gesture where the repairing partly dictates the choice of shapes, scales and materials. The objective is to position my sculptures as prostheses replacing the missing or broken parts of selected objects.

The Nights of La Nuit de la poésie (March 27th, 1970 and March 28th, 1980) inspired Francys Chenier’s project. The artist walked around Quartier des spectacles with a trolley full of images inspired by the atmosphere of those Nuits.

This series of original performative actions is designed specifically for the context of the Quartier des spectacles, and will develop over the cycle of the four seasons of an entire year.
