Michel Archambault

Drawings

DARE-DARE presents two series of drawings by Michel Archambault.

The first series of drawings presented by Michel Archambault at DARE-DARE illustrates his purified studies of form and movement. Marked by the black of charcoal, his drawings, with their spare, repetitive forms, call on the almost magical power of signs and symbols. The second, more spontaneous series depicts everyday objects, insects, characters, wizards... It's a free-drawing style with no theme whatsoever.

In 1987, Michel Archambault helped organize an exhibition at the "Plan-K" refinery in Brussels, bringing together five installation artists. He presented "Crux", a sound installation conceived and realized on site with Michel Tétreault's collaboration for the sound aspect. Since 1983, he has devoted most of his time to organizing and producing installation-related events, focusing mainly on the interaction between electro-acoustic music and sculpture, sound space and the integration of the listener/spectator. Michel Archambault is currently working on a series of three sound sculptures in collaboration with Michel Tétreault.
