Marie-Andrée Gill

Lâche Du Lousse

July 8, 2020 - November 4, 2020
The billboard presents a new poem by Marie-Andrée Gill every week until November.

All our suffering is linked to that of our world.

And we look for poetry everywhere to make our collective and individual pain a bit more beautiful.
Take the time to heal yourself after a blow,
it is to look at that one is part of everything which does not feel so good either.
Taking time means looking at oneself and working on ones patterns,
but it's also laughing at oneself, not always looking good, losing oneself in the infinity of images
which pass before our eyes all day long. It is also to lose oneself in the magnificent
that we can see when we stop for two minutes.

Let's love each other in our own way during our time and its catastrophes.

Mother, lover, friend, sister, Marie-Andrée Gill turns her relationships into poems. Her writing travels between kitsch and existential, combining Quebec and Ilnu identities, and expressing both Nitassinan and the territory of Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. A literature student, she navigates around writing the intimate and the concept of decolonial love. She has published three collections at La Peuplade, Béante, Frayer and Chauffer le dehors.
