Parallel to the Camping Aux bons plaisirs fugaces event, taking place in the park with no name, DARE-DARE proposes the third instalment in a series of conferences on the hybrid relationship between art and public space. With Pratiques du territoire: occupation - dislocation - mutation, DARE-DARE seeks to unite artists’ and theorists’ reflections alongside billed artist’s experimentations.

In these conferences, the artist-run centre proposes multidisciplinary approaches to rethinking the way we conceive of and interact with inhabitable space. For this occasion, the speakers will present the results of activities altering notions of performativity as experienced within particular settings, be they social, political or economic.

The four speakers view the relationship between performativity and public space from multiple angles. On one hand, Louise Dubreuil and Martine Neddam work questions this relationship through in situ installations and Internet’s use as fresh public ground. On the other hand, Gabriela Golder and Éric Létourneau contemplate the effect of inserting the human body into specific settings, with either a video camera as witness or through geopoetic manipulations and interventions on location.

Treating the question of human social and behavioural ties to power from a performative viewpoint makes unusual social actors of our guests. They deal with their problematics at the local level, while also facing their global implications, underscoring the fact that they also grasp the “glocal”.
