Call for participants
Fabuler l'école 2025
This call invites all those who wish to engage in a process of transmission and learning and in a quest for (de) training—understood as an exercise in unlearning, aimed at freeing oneself from established frameworks and official techniques in order to invent other ways of knowing and doing.

Community(ies) of Practice(s)
Fabuler l'école > Call for Participation
Call deadline: October 21, 2025
Event date: November 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Solarium space at Cité-des-Hospitalières (251 Av. des Pins, Montreal)
A meal will be provided for participants.
DARE-DARE continues its experimental school project. This new edition, focused on communities of practice, offers an opportunity to explore new ways of teaching and learning by bringing together people from diverse backgrounds—some of which are far removed from those usually associated with the arts—with artists, cultural workers, and art researchers.
This call is open to anyone wishing to engage in a process of transmission and learning and in a quest for (de)formation—understood as an exercise in unlearning, aimed at freeing oneself from established frameworks and official techniques in order to invent new ways of knowing and doing. To participate, we invite you, as a learner and transmitter, to:
- Prepare a form of sharing, of your choice, lasting 5 to 30 minutes, in the form of a talk or a practical workshop.
and
- Bring someone who is not part of the DARE-DARE network to participate in the activity (encourage this person by highlighting the value of their professional background, the interest of their everyday knowledge, and the richness of their cultural, traditional, and/or family knowledge, without imposing the form and content of their sharing on them), so that they can be both a learner and a transmitter.
About Fabuler l'école
Fabuler l'école is an educational and artistic adventure that began in 2019 within the Espace critique committee of the DARE-DARE artists' center. Since then, it has created a space for collective learning in the form of an experimental transdisciplinary school. Fabuler l'école is a laboratory with multiple rhythms and coexisting temporalities, based on the desire to reflect together on engagement through art in society, particularly in the public space of the city, on the processual dimension of practices, on the potential of sharing, and on ways of occupying our environment from a decolonial perspective.
The recurring project is aimed at undisciplined artists, thinkers, and practitioners who wish to engage in the invention of new forms and pursue a quest for (de)formation. The project proposes the exchange and sharing of practices, gestures, perceptions, and experiences in order to create collective intelligence and heterogeneous knowledge.
This edition of Fabuler l’École is a project initiated by members of DARE-DARE’s Critical Space Committee: Magali Babin, Marcela Bórquez, Vincent Lacasse, Anne-Marie Ouellet, and Susan Turcot.
