Programming

Through her installations, Ildiko Repasi (Brooklyn, USA) constructs artificial environments to trap the visitor. The installation The Laugh confronted us from the outset with a raised floor accessible by a staircase. The floor sloped down to a room where a thousand helium-filled balloons were floating. These balloons were deflated and gradually fell back to the ground during the exhibition. On an entire wall, a looped video projection showed the bust of a woman with breasts slowly inflating to ridiculous proportions. This was accompanied by the aggressive laughter of a woman.
