Christian Bujold

Christian Bujold is a multidisciplinary artist who is interested in art action and the different forms that can result from it, such as installation, photography, drawing and video. He tends to create global, contextual and installation works, often using different technical and conceptual approaches simultaneously. He has recently begun research into the work of painting. The ideas of traces and appearances of the body are central. He tends to explore different themes such as death, memory, disappearance as well as the interactions between the body and its environment, its history, its evolution. He likes to negotiate with notions of effort, endurance, friction and tension in order to challenge the idea of control. He is strongly interested in the formal aspects of the proposed works as well as their in-situ character. He has participated in several international festivals such as Rapid Pulse in Chicago, Carbonarium in Kiev, Performance Crossing in Prague, TIME in The Hague, as well as on multiple occasions in Quebec, Spain, Greece and the United States. He has served as president of the artist-run center DARE-DARE and is a former member of the board of the festival Viva! Art Action festival.
