Kyra Revenko

Born in Montreal to a family of immigrant artists, Kyra Revenko completed a master’s degree in visual and media arts at UQÀM in 2025. Shaped by multi- and post-diasporic layers of identity, her multifaceted practice is grounded in a sensitive approach rooted in the properties of photography. Centered on the archive and its residual resonances, her interdisciplinary approach explores the relationships between language, territory, memory, and identity. Her work has been featured in group and solo exhibitions in Canada and Albania. For the past fifteen years or so, she has participated in projects related to urban space, notably in collaboration with the Franco-Canadian photographer Frederik Froument, the urban design studio Civiliti, the Maison de l’architecture du Québec, and the City of Montreal. In collaboration with an artist from the Kanien’kehà:ka Nation, her work for the reconciliation project *Our Stories, Our Path: Parcours Peel was inaugurated in 2024 (11 bronze stations along Peel Street). A former member of the Montreal-based artist-photographer collective Fovea, she is the author of *Fugitive Occurrences in Socius and In Situ* and developed a body of work exploring the image as writing during a residency at the Atelier de l’île. In addition to written publications (in magazines such as *item*, *Espaces Spéculatifs*, and *Architecture & poésie*), she has also worked in design, graphic design, and scenography.
