Philippe Allard

Philippe Allard

Philippe Allard holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the Université du Québec à Montréal. His practice in visual arts is mainly focused on sculpture and installation. Inspired by arte povera, he recovers materials and objects from industrial production and diverts their original meaning by transposing them into a new context.

His works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, France, Portugal, Morocco and South Korea. Among others, his work has been shown at the Articule Centre, the Darling Foundry, the Atoll Centre, the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown, with DARE-DARE, the Maison de la culture de Longueuil and the Musée d'art de Joliette. In the past few years, he has received several grants for the realization of his projects and has also completed eight works of public art as part of the policy of integration with architecture. As a resident of Le Sud-Ouest, he is a neighbor of DARE-DARE. In 2017, he created the ephemeral public art piece "Freiner la chute" supported by the Center and Le Sud-Ouest borough.
